I'm getting better at Comptine D'un Autre Ete... unfortunately, I've only undertook the easiest parts thus far. The first page is manageable-- and I imagine the second and third are as well-- but they look beastly. At least, for someone who hasn't seriously sat down to learn a piece of sheet music in about four years. I really want to do this, though. This song is just... so good... that whether or not you've heard it before, you instantly fall in love with it. Unless you have no soul; in that case I imagine you'd be the exception to most things.
Today was pretty laid back. Tiny girls have infested my house. April (9 years) has constantly had friends over this weekend: Olivia, the quieter one with glasses; and Meagan, the freckly one who says really dark things like, "I'm going to crush all your bones, squeeze out all your juices, and stick you in the freezer." April and her friends are like little squirrels tittering about the house too quickly for anyone to acknowledge what has just occurred, until they scream really loudly and multiple voices irritatedly interject: "Hey hey HEY no yelling!" Heather (14 years) on the other hand has had her freckly partner in crime over, and they go out to McDonald's and come back home and roller blade to Target and come back home and meet so-and-so and the Sprinter station and come back home... I've been caught in the middle of this flurry of little girls and little girls who think they are big girls all weekend. All I want is to watch the Stand-Up Showdown 2009 (or whatever it's called) on Comedy Central!
I saw a few of the acts; very funny. There was one guy following Mitch Hedgburg-- Jeremy Hotz-- I thought he was great; absolutely bizarre; but great.
Question to readers (if I have any): Does Mitch Fatel have a slight retardation, speech impediment, or is that just his shtick? I texted 242-242, this knowledge bureau of sorts that's supposed to have the answers to all life's questions, but they didn't have an answer for me.
Heather and her friend made a massive tray of Ghiradelli chocolate brownies today. I won't lie, I was very much looking forward to them. Too bad the two screwed the brownies up; le-sigh. They were kind of underbaked. The biggest cooking faux-paux was that they tried frosting the brownies immediately after taking them out of the oven. So this cream cheese frosting was practically bubbling and oozing over these discongealed ((is that a word?)) brownies... forget the forks and plates, get me a glass and a bendy straw!
Later on, my two scene partners came over to rehearse a scene we are in for the one-act festival mentioned in yesterday's blog. All I can say is... they'd better know their lines. Ha ha. But seriously. We get graded on the scene tomorrow for our final in addition to having to perform it next week.
Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllll Sondra is over. I haven't seen her in a long time; since she graduated she's been super busy with work and I've been super busy with school-shit (get it? a play on the phrase "bull-shit"). I'ma be out, yo. I'll holla atcha l8r.
